Part 1:How to make a PDF file with Acrobat 4.0

Chapter 1: Making a Japanese PDF with Word 2000 and Acrobat 4.0.

-For Ordinary Computer Users-


First of all, I will show you how to use Word 2000 and Acrobat to make Japanese PDF files. The first thing you have to do is to make a Japanese document with Windows 2000. If you do not know the setting, please refer to my previous articles, Learning Japanese Through The Internet and How to use Japanese with English Windows.

I will show you the authoring processing first, and then I will show you how to setup Acrobat 4.0. After successfully setting up the Japanese environment, you can see [Figure 1.]

Please click on the Acrobat icon, which will be automatically shown after you have successfully installed Acrobat 4.0. If you click the icon, you will see the [Figure 2.]

The most important section is blue-boxed. You can setup other options to suit your taste. However, if you do not have any other preference, please stick to my setup.

If you click the "Create" button, you are all set. First, you will see [Figure 3.]. Actually, it will take a little time, so please don't lose your patience.

Finally, you will get the Japanese PDF file, which was generated with all English versions of applications using the English version of Windows 2000, which is shown in [Figure 4.].
