Educators Without Borders(EWB) is a global, non-profit and professional organization that provides professional services and assistance for educational progress in least developed and developing countries.
EWB has been established through a series of initiatives by a group of Korean educators and experts along with a global network of educational professionals to offer assistance to countries in need, from a country that has itself relied upon and benefited from international aid in the past.
EWB seeks to undertake comprehensive research and development activities ranging from the conduct of surveys, basic research, training of personnel and policy consultations. Working with networks of partners who are deeply committed to the same goals as EWB, it seeks to provide professional and technical assistance to countries in need of educational development programs, but seeks to do this in ways which are socio-culturally pertinent to the countries concerned. EWB also works in remote education facilities, to provide training for local personnel with its ultimate goal of promoting universal access to basic and ultimately, to further education.
EWB seeks to live up to both the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the aims of Education For All (EFA). These goals consider education to be a pivotal force in the reduction of extreme poverty and hunger. We at EWB share the view that ‘capacity building’ in people through educational progress is something which will ultimately serve as a firm basis for human development in a wider sense.
