Invitation
The Organizing Committee of APDSI-KOPOMS Seoul
2004 would like to extend a cordial invitation to you to
come to Seoul for a prestigious conference.
Seoul has been the capital of
Korea for about 600 years,
since the time of the Joseon
Dynasty(1392-1910).
Seoul has developed into a bustling metropolis, acting as the
hub for political, economic, social, |

and cultural matters. The Han River
runs through the heart of the city. The river divides the city
in two; the northern part of the city is a focal point for culture
and history, while the southern part is well known for its business
district. Seoul has hosted many international events including:
1986 Asian Games, 1988 Olympic Games and 2002 Korea/Japan FIFA
World Cup. The success of these events has shown people that
Korea is truly an international city.
In Seoul you can find ancient palaces and Royal Shrines of the
Joseon Dynasty, as well as Seoul World Cup Stadium, 63 Building,
Lotte World, Han River, Namsan, Bukhansan Mountain National
Park, Daehangno, Insa-dong, Itaewon, Myeongdong, Apgujeong,
Namdaemun and Dongdaemun Markets.
Besides the attractions of the city itself, Seoul offers many
long and proud cultural festivals almost everyday.
Also, Seoul provides various kinds of traditional or modern
food resources, because various cooking ingredients are available
to get in Seoul since it has been the capital of the nation
and the center of commerce. In light of this harmony and advancement,
the city of Seoul has become an ideal place that can connect
the past with the future.
During our July 1-4,
2004 conference dates feeling simultaneously the shadows of
late spring and a prelude for the hot summer, we can expect
beautiful Seoul with sunny sky and comfortable temperature.
We decide the theme of the conference as "DECISION
MAKING IN EMERGING MARKET (OF ASIA-PACIFIC COMMUNITY): WHAT,
HOW AND WHY."
The venue site is located at one
of the most famous business and shopping centers in Korea, adjacent
to the Korea World Trade Center which is a complex area of super-deluxe
hotels, department stores, shopping arcades, and many kinds
of restaurant, and also the City Airport Terminal where foreign
travelers can process their check out, immigration, and boarding
procedures at a comfortable atmosphere.
We are
looking forward to welcoming you to the APDSIKOPOMS Seoul Meeting
in the year 2004, and to the new era for decision making in
emerging market of Asia- Pacific community. Please make a plan
ahead to visit Seoul in July 2004.
